The Salvation Army Owens Campus in Las Vegas, NV is looking to fill a Lead Case Manager position for the CIP program. The qualified candidate for this position will have experience working with homeless and or at risk veterans, experience in individual counseling and good communication skills. This position is benefit eligible and comes with vacation, sick, health, vision, life insurance, and more.

The Lead Case Manager will provide direct case management services to homeless veterans and facilitate the intake and discharge process. This position will coordinate care with VA personnel and others on behalf of participants for eligibility documentation, mental and physical health services. This person will maintain client files, complete accurate and timely data entry and facilitate classroom presentations and group sessions. The Lead will assist with supervision of CIP support staff and oversee compliance with facility rules.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or related discipline. Minimum of four years of related employment experience may be substituted for degree requirements.
  • CADC certification preferred
  • Experience working with homeless and/or at-risk veterans preferred.
  • Experience in individual counseling
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with a diverse group of residents, staff and community partners
  • Must have a valid Nevada Driver License, clean driving record.
  • Veteran status preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus. The employee must have the ability to operate a telephone, desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
